steamboat–at the pool

We spent at least half of every day we were in steamboat at the pool. It was a really nice pool and HEATED which was awesome because half of the days were rainy/chilly.

The first two days all the men were gone backpacking so it was just the girls. We played in the sun and it felt SO good!

Watching the hot air balloons each morning was a favorite.

I just love this stance of Libby’s.

Brookie was so loving the whole week because she was cutting her top teeth! FINALLY! She doesn’t have a fang anymore :) But it was kind of miserable sleeping in the same room as her at night.

Brookie has gotten attached to her duck the past two weeks. She always has it in her arm while she sleeps.

Banka came the second morning and took all the girls to FM Light and Sons that is a sweet little cowboy store where it was lined with the cutest cowboy boots. I had no desire to purchase a pair until I walked in that store. It must have been the scent of leather that hooked me.

I saw this truck and knew I was in Colorado!

The girls loved crawling with Brookie down the hall to our condo. Also, after one time in the elevator and the experience with the buttons in it, every time we would go down the hall to the elevator, she would hold out her finger and demand to push the buttons.

Coloring was one of the girls’ favorite activities during transition times in the morning or afternoon.

More time at the pool – I tell you what – that yellow floaty was a hot commodity… and so we attempted every store in our shopping plaza to find floaties, but alas, we had to share the one. 32-IMG_9919 33-IMG_9922

When the boys got home from backpacking, we started water Olympics – target shooting with noodles and the above mentioned floatie, we had the standing long jump, swimming races, and the discus throw- which ended quickly after the second throw because both times someone in the pool got hit. Oh AND handstand performances – hilarious! Each boy choreographed a routine with their legs while doing a handstand under the water. Then the girls judged.
