randoms from march and our great NEWS!!!

Stay tuned for the great news at end of this post-

Abi has been learning how to make her own arrangements while I do flowers. It has been really fun to have that special time together.

Here is a photo she took of her first arrangement… I was proud of her.

Self portrait… sisterly love.

This is the new favorite tub time position and I just love it. They get so deep into playing together and bath time is usually a no fighting time and I love that too.

We went to the park one afternoon.

We went to the Humane Society and walked the small dogs one afternoon too. It was an awesome experience and I would recommend it to anyone – service and fun? Perfect. IMAG0473IMAG0474

My quarterly pampering -

Abi got a hold of my phone one day in the car on the way home from Salt Lake-

Abi also got some pampering – she is so darn cute! My good friend Dianne did her hair and did such a good job. Abi does very good holding still and telling her how she feels about things.

I finally finished Abi’s pillows for her bedding set – now on to Brookie’s but I don’t think it will happen for a while (more on that to come!)

With the warm weather and then a burst of cold weather and back to warm weather, Abi’s asthma hit her full on. I hadn’t seen it that bad since her initial hospitalization at two years old. It was a pretty stressful week this week trying to keep it at bay. She is so good about getting a treatment and I hate telling her she has to stay low and not run around. It breaks my heart. Then because her immune system was fighting this, she got a terrible cold and passed it around to the girls in the family. I finally got it last night and I feel like junk. My poor girls… it doesn’t feel good.

This is Abi watching living scriptures last Sunday doing a treatment.

Dan had a stellar March because he certified to sky dive alone! Ahh!!! One of the things they had to do was spend time in the wind tunnel here in Ogden. I was so proud of all the control and moves he learned during this session.

I think our March came RUSHING in like a lion in terms of our schedule and all that we have been doing. During rough times and during busy times, I don’t blog. So the past two months have you noticed a lack of posts? I have!!! Here is yet another reason why the lack of posts- I mentioned back in January that Dan was accepted to BYU’s Executive MBA program this fall. It is three nights a week down in Provo and he will still be working I Salt Lake daily. So we prayed (oh and have we prayed LOTS!!!) and felt the need to move south. We have only been here in Roy for a bit over a year and HATE to have to do this again, but we feel it is the right thing. We started this whole process in January, but didn’t start looking at homes until the week I miscarried. Since then we went to homes about three to four days a week. The market is just crazy right now. We would go to a home that had been put on the MLS system that morning about four hours later it was under contract, full priced offer – and it is just nuts. Last time we did the home search, it was one day a week with a newborn and I thought that was crazy. But this, with homes only lasting a day or more?

But alas, we have succeeded the home search! We found a home and are pleased about it. It is in Saratoga Springs and we have it under contract. It looks a lot like the one we live in now. So we are on to the next process of deciding what to do about our Roy home. We would really like to keep it and rent it, but with lenders right now we are having to find some pretty creative options and we still haven’t found the right mix yet. I haven’t started packing but we will move sometime the end of April (yet a busier month to come for us).

I wish I could take all the kind people in our area with me. I sure love them. Last week in church Dan and I bawled during the closing song of “God be with you till we meet again” as it dawned on us, this is really happening. We have always known we wouldn’t be here in Roy for long, but thought it would be at least 3-5 years. But we are truly excited for the move. We felt so peaceful when we walked in the house. I just don’t know what people do without the spirit. We rely on it so much! Anyways, it is our new home and is in a gorgeous neighborhood. I will post more on it when we get more solid with it and close on it this month!!! Yikes!!!

Oh, and PS – like a typical Thomas family adventure – it is another COMPLETE renovation, yet again. So there is our summer plans. :) Really? Hey, at least we will have a pool and a great view!

date–dinner and dancing

Dan and I were invited to my good friend’s birthday party. She turned 30 and really wanted to do something fun and unique instead of just a party. But party we did. Limo, Asian Star Restaurant, and Ballroom Dancing were in the midst of this night! Plus, I got to get really dressed up and that was way fun!

Lettuce wraps that were to die for!

I don’t know why Dan decided there needed to be a third member of this photo… but here it is none-the-less.

Ben eating Aania’s cheesecake with a knife because they had taken all our forks!

Dan was gracious enough to put up with me and my ballroom life. It kind of tried to push its way between us while we tried to dance. It was really hard for me to let go of technique, correct steps and timing, and the correct steps to the right songs… really hard.

_MG_5582_MG_5583_MG_5584

We were pretty tired last night coming home, but had such a wonderful time. No one else knew how to dance “ballroom” so it was nice to just goof off. Thanks to Dan’s parents for watching the girls for the night. It also allowed us to hit an early morning temple session in Salt Lake before we picked them up. I sure love the temple. So good for my soul.

Brookie’s Hair

This girl changed so much in my eyes when I pulled her hair back this week for the first time. It was really enlightening for me. I remember thinking the same thing about Abi. But B loves getting her hair done.

_MG_5552_MG_5556_MG_5557_MG_5558_MG_5560_MG_5563_MG_5565_MG_5567_MG_5568

Abi was trying to help B smile. That ended the photo shoot because it ended with screaming… pretty normal around here.

It’s about time!

We finally got some good weather! This past winter has been so hard on us. I love being able to send the girls outside without having to worry about them now that Brookie can handle herself.

_MG_5478_MG_5480_MG_5482_MG_5483_MG_5485_MG_5487_MG_5488

These girls are hilarious… between Abi’s free spirit and B’s teeth, you can just tell they keep me busy.

Roylance’s cabin

Oh my word you guys! I am blogging! There is so much going on right now in our family and I can’t wait to share it all with you, but I need to get some of the fun things we have done posted on here.

We were invited to go to our friends’ cabin at Bear Lake this month. It was just for a night, but was so needed on our end. The girls loved it too.

_MG_5520_MG_5523_MG_5526_MG_5528_MG_5530_MG_5532_MG_5534

Even though it was kind of chilly, we went to the park and played while Dan skied for the day. _MG_5538_MG_5540

Then we lounged for the afternoon and colored.
