As of Late...

Dan and I went on our first date this past week... ALONE!!! It was hard, but it was healing for our relationship. We attended Savior of the World put on at the LDS Conference Center in Salt Lake. It was such a beautiful performance. My cousin McKay was also in it and that made it all the better... way to be McKay! We met some great people and felt such a wonderful spirit. It feels SO nice to be HOME!!!

Abi was good for Grandma Thomas that night... although she didn't want to go to sleep. However, the instant that I got her in my arms she was out... go figure! She has been giggling this week and it is SO SO SO cute! Our quota is about two a day, but she seems to be able to do it longer now too. I hope that we can get a good one on video soon.

We have been unpacking our new apartment in Holladay this week. We have moved in but can't live there until Jan 1st which is nice since we will be in Colorado for the rest of the month.

The Adventure Starts Here...

There are four posts to our travel adventures so make sure you read them all!!!
After so much time getting the bathroom remodeled, I didn't get any photos! Isn't that just awful... what makes it more awful is that we finished the bathroom, took one shower (while the caulking was still wet), packed our bags and left the Sidney Farmhouse FOREVER!!! I couldn't believe it went so fast. We severed our ties really quickly with the house becuase Dan had some work to do at the Quarry and it was getting dark fast. I am still surprised at the tears that came to my eyes as I pulled out of the driveway.

I was teasing Dan and he chased me through the house and I had just painted the hallway and tripped right into the paint. Too funny becuase about ten minutes before that I warned him to be careful!

Doesn't my little one seem to already be two years old? She is so smart for just three months... I have to put in photos of her to remember the good times and to take some of the sting away from the adventures that came when we pulled out of that driveway.

We made it to the quarry at about 5 pm and weren't able to leave until 8 pm. Those three hours are too dark to tell anyone what happened... it was the most adventurous nightmare ever! Just to give you a little taste, try this... 6 inches of snow, raining, stuck on a hill, in a dress, baby screaming, dark, windy, ice, two wheel drive truck pulled behind a durango... At one point I got our of the Durango (on a hill) and yelled for Dan becuase I couldn't get back in due to the ice. I was holding onto the steering wheel for dear life and he had to come and save me. At another point, Dan was taking inventory with a flashlight, I was driving the Durango, feeding Abi and writing down inventory all at the same time... oh dark memories! But we made it through, tired, cold, and with a screaming baby... after more and more stops (one being our favorite local resturant) we were off....but only made it 3 hours.

Community Chest: Day at the Museum $25

I have the most thoughtful husband... There is a museum in the middle of Upstate New York that I have ALWAYS wanted to go to. It is the Corning Museum of Glass... it was AMAZING! Dan saw that we would pass it on the way across the country, so he decided to stop early for the night and we would go the next morning. It was so sweet of him!

The museum was so cool! There was a blown glass exhibit where we saw incredible glass artwork from across the work and then there was this hands on, science part of the museum. It was early Monday morning so we were almost the only ones there. We went to a whole bunch of shows and demonstrations and were able to volunteer in them. It was so much fun!

Abi was wonderful... of course!

The sad part about this day is that we both woke up sick... it was awful and hindered our travel progress a lot. We only made it about 400 miles a day and it took us all day becuase we were just so darn sick. Thankfully, Abi just got slightly congested, but not sick.
I can't beleive I don't have photos of it, but we stopped by one of my old roommates' apartments in Chicago! Ashlee is doing so well in her new job and life! She amazes me so much... living on her own and being so successful in her job with Sears. It was hard that I only got to see her for a couple of hours and that the whole time I was just so darn sick. Yet, I enjoyed seeing her so so so much! Love you SHLEE!

Discovery... Priceless

After stopping in Chicago for the night we drove to Des Moines, Iowa to stay with my brother and his family. It was crazy to think that we hadn't seen them for a year and half because our paths just didn't cross. Josh, Samantha, and their new baby Liberty, are doing SO well. We loved their cute home and Abi finally got to meet Libby... they were so cute together. Libby kept reaching out to touch Abi (her new development in the past week). It was the beginning of a great friendship. I hope they can be great friends like I am with my cousins.

We enjoyed ourselves so much we stayed for two days. It also helped us recooperate and get our health back up.

Queen!!!

Need I say more about this? Just too darn cute!

After Des Moines, we did the unthinkable and traveled the whole second half of the way in one day! Yep, Josh and Sam were exactly half way... and it was about 20 hours of travel after that. The weather was great except for a few spots in Wyoming, but overall we made good time.

SO WE'RE HERE!!! YEAH! After 6 days of travel and all the adventures (blogged and unblogged)... It already just feels SO good to be back. We don't have a place to live, but have some great options and just need to make a decision. We are staying with Dan's parents in Park City and Abi has been SPOILED to death from cousins to aunts to grandparents. Dan is already busy busy with work and as much as I didn't want to be busy, I am.

The last photo is of Dan's granparents (Walter and Betsy Thomas) and Dan's cousin George and his wife and their adorable little boy (it makes 3 boys for them under the age of four! NUTS). Anyway, it was a nice visit and I really like George and his wife.

Speaking of my already busy schedule... Abi already met with her new Doctor whom I JUST LOVE!!!! THANK YOU MARY ANN! I thought she was sick from us, and that is why I went right away, but she was just a little congested. Anyway, she has gained a whopping 2 pounds in three weeks! Abi is now in the double digits! 11 lbs exactly. She got her shots (still harder for mom than for Abi) and is doing well. She still amazed the Doctor by how advanced she was in developments.
I really didn't want to be so active in all the things going on (as I said in past posts), but it has just been too hard to not get out and do things. I stayed home today which was very nice and allowed me to give Abi all my attention. She was kind of fussy from her shots too. I hope things slow down a bit after Christmas (yeah right... who am I fooling?) So, bring it on! You want to come along?
