we wish you a merry christmas - our attempt

I so wanted to send our Christmas cards this year, but you all know what we have been up to…

so this is us saying how much we love and appreciate all of you. this year has been trying and triumphant for us and we know we couldn’t have done it with out your support.

we also want to make a point to share our testimony with you that we know that Jesus Christ is our savior. We know that he was born during this season and we celebrate and dedicate our celebrations to him. We have been so blessed by Him and know that it is He who has blessed us with such beautiful Daughters, an Eternal marriage and family, and this wonderful home.

We wish you his spirit during this week and the coming year. May you remember Him and what He has done for us-

With Love-

The Thomas’

brooklyn–6 months

so our little trout had a check up this week- here are this beauty’s stats-

IMG_3577

  • weight – 14.5 lbs – 23%
  • height – 27.25 ins – 93%

This means that Trout grew 3.5 inches in two months! The doctor thought something was measured wrong. She has jumped from the 39% to 93%!!! Big girl!

Trout LOVES to scream and chatter! I can’t believe how noisy she is. We NEVER make it through sacrament meeting.

she gets upset when you leave her on the floor and sit on the couch next to her or leave the room

she still wails through the night

since getting carpet last week she has developed to the point of being able to get on her hands and knees and rock a bit. She gets really upset that she can’t get anywhere though. eek! so not ready for mobility.

loves to shake her head “no” and blow raspberries

has the perfect targetted swipe – never misses

no teeth yet (but within a week or two I am sure)

still adores abi like she walks on water!

and we still adore her!

holiday festivities

we haven’t been as gung ho on the house in the past couple of days. I think that we all just wanted to enjoy the holidays because we haven’t had a chance to yet. So we decorated the tree and made this lovely ice rink in our back yard.

However much we would like to stop working, we still have one toilet and no doors on any rooms (yes, even the working toilet bathroom). joyous, I know.

I came upstairs and couldn’t help but laugh at this sight.

Abi and Brookie and I worked on Christmas presents for friends and family. I don’t know how well they turned out, but they are cute!

yesterday we wrapped gifts for 6 hours… not cool! I so don’t like wrapping gifts. But the girls liked it…abi is a great cutter and ribbon unspooler. And Brookie loves to eat the extra paper. I love my girls – and am thankful I am my mom’s girl for when they are driving me crazy! you know, cause that never happens!

an early christmas present

dan came home from work last week and said that he was going to give me one of the gifts from my christmas list early. this has NEVER happened! I was shocked and couldn’t figure out what he could possibly get me early that couldn’t wait until christmas itself. He then told me that some gifts are better given in person… I thought through my list of xmas gifts and finally figured it out----

dan got a baby sitter (brownie points!)

dan planned this date (double points!)

dan took me to see - - -

anberlin in concert!!!

I discovered Anberlin when we lived in NY. After I would drive the hour to get down to wal-mart to go grocery shopping there was a radio station that was broadcast from Boise, ID in Binghamton, NY – I only got it when I would pass into Binghamton and my fingers were always ready to turn it on. It was a Christian Rock station and I liked having clean music to listen to. Anyway, this is where my love for the band came to be and I have own everything and watched everything I could since.

So I asked for a t-shirt from their website for xmas. But this was even better!!!

the concert was not only in Salt Lake, but it was FREE!!! Free people! Do you understand? It was like they had this just for us! We just bought a house and there was no way we could ever pay to see them. Merry Christmas to us! It felt SO good to just let go and JAM out with them. I haven’t felt so carefree in years.

I could go on for so long, but I am sure that you all would get tired of me describing how amazing this was and how in love I am with the lead singer Stephen Christian and how I feel like he sings to my soul, and how my husband was so cute about my crush and how great if felt to share it with Dan.

Best. Gift. Ever.

I love you Dan!!!

And thanks for the shirt!

house updates!–CARPET!!!

I know you all have been wondering where I went to, well tonight (and for the past couple of nights) I had my head  in a toilet trying to fix all of them. Joyous during the Christmas season too. Not only that but Dan and I were trying to discuss our anniversary plans and both laughed because of where the conversation was taking place.

Here are before photos:
