photoshoot for abigail

check out this beautiful girl! we went out yesterday and took these photos. these are my favorite… (I took almost 300 photos of her). It is so hard to capture her and has always been that way. I so cannot decide which ones to print. What ones are your favorite?

behind the scenes… dan was so sweet to come with us to support us…. I love the one in the bottom right corner! Dan and Abi look just alike in their eyes and expressions. and I FINALLY caught Brooklyn in a good smile. Now, we have got to capture her this week in her blessing dress shoot.

overall I think this one is my favorite of Abi… she is just gorgeous and such a spunk.

oh, and ps, I didn’t pose her for this photo… all her.

berry trifle

This is the recipe to the trifle that I have made HUNDREDS of times because it is SO easy and so good!!! You will be licking the bowl… promise!  I like to let Abi help me too. she is great at breaking the angel food cake and licking the beaters :)

 

2- 8oz pkg of cream cheese

2 c. powdered sugar

1 c. sour cream

2 small cont. cool whip

2 tsp vanilla

1 tsp almond

cream together sugar, cream cheese, sour cream, vanilla and almond

either two bags of frozen berries or use fresh (that is what I do)

1 1/2 angel food cakes broken into pieces

layer cake, fruit, and cream mixture

ENJOY!!!

abigail’s third birthday

can you believe it has already been a year since this fiasco? sigh* where has it all gone?

anyway, abigail turned three this week

she woke up to balloons throughout the house-

she couldn’t wait to open her gifts- and started with the biggest one.

ps- brooklyn now rolls from her back to her front (at two months)

we had some free tickets to the aquarium and headed off in the afternoon-

this little one was SO good! she loved the bright colors and contrasts of things-

um…no comment

here’s her cake--- long story short! after a terrible experience in the grocery store, I was driving home and hit the brakes to stop at the light… and the cake fell off the seat! AHH!! I was too tired to take it back (also knowing that abi was going to have a party in a couple of weeks with a bigger cake). well when we were packing up to leave for the day on saturday abi grabbed the cake off the counter. as she rounded the corner telling us we cannot forget the cake, she dropped it. I was suddenly thankful that I had smooshed it before because I wasn’t as upset with her as I probably would have been. dan was so great about it too… he just told abi we could scrape off the frosting and eat it… which abi happily did!

we took abi out to A&W since we had coupons…

she originally kept telling us she wanted to go to the Myan where the dancers are! Thankfully, she was really fine with this

and, she only at the frosting :)

We took her over to Ross to pick out a toy. she chose a Barbie Beauty set with a blow dryer that really works! she has played cosmetologist for two days now! her wonderful birthday was topped off with a reception where the DJ played Firework by Katy Perry… abi know all the lyrics by heart. I wish I had photos of her priceless face light up when it started. she the proceeded to belt our the song with her eyes closed… I will never forget that!

there is a blog that I LOVE to read here, that the mother tells things she loves about the child according to their age… I want to do the same-

1- abi loves to be silly and can take a joke! I can’t even do that! She is always playing pranks on us and then she laughs and says, “I am so silly.” The best thing about it is that she really is funny.

2- abi loves music! She loves Katy Perry, One Republic, and He is We. She will ask for specific songs in the car and I just love listening to her sing. I know she shocked my brother when she started singing some of his fav songs at the dinner table two weeks ago.

3-  abi is the best big sister! I am still amazed that she is so good to Brooklyn. I can’t believe that I was ever worried about her. She is such a nurturer and almost knows brooklyn as well as I do.

I love this little goose! I am so grateful we could celebrate her birthday!

To all my friends who use pinterest!!! I don’t know of a better way to get a hold of most of you except to post something on here…

I have loved this site and have gotten so inspired by it; however, I have noticed that there are people posting a lot of images and quotes that are offensive to the spirit. I have tried to screen them out, but there is no way to make a search safe. Not only that, but the user agreement states that pins should be clean…

Please help me keep this site clean by writing a complaint to Pinterest! hi@pinterest.com

Dear Pinterest:

I love your website! I am a pinning addict! However, over the past couple of weeks I have noticed an increasing amount of offensive photos being pinned on your website. There is no way to flag them or to screen them out of my searching. I am contemplating leaving pinterest because I don't want to look at any type of photo or quote that uses profane language or is pornographic. I have loved being a member, but don't want these images, suggestions, and statements in my head. 

I read your statement of use and each person who gets an account agrees not to pin offensive photos or quotes... but this isn't being enforced. Please do something so that I and others can enjoy a clean, worry-free website!

oh how I wish I had time to talk about all we did… it was just wonderful. So you just get to look!

enjoying brooklyn – and her binki that she uses like a cigar (out the side of her mouth) – I love seeing Erik’s real smile when he is with his nieces and also seeing banka take care of his girls (instead of just me and my mom, we now have 7 girls in the fam)

a day at Black Canyon – so amazing… I couldn’t believe how high up we were – check out who joined us in the back seat of the car… -

we love mima’s garden! it looks amazing!!!

mima’s rock collection with a special friend on the karin stack – abi’s first firgure drawing (don’t know when that development clicked)- helping erik husk corn – sleeping with a balloon under the blanket (silly girl)

colorado part 3–the big water

we headed down to the ridgway reservoir (the big water) last saturday for some fun in the sun! we SO missed our cousins libby and kennedi… abi kept telling us, “they are here!” so sad…

however, we bummed some rides on jet skis from our friends that just happened to be there… it was thrilling and I don’t think I have felt so free in a LONG time!
