happy saturday

It just happens to be the dentist’s lucky day today- we are going trick-or-treating 3 times today. The grocery store is doing something, our ward has a party, and then we will go around a bit tonight.

Abi is excited to be Tinkerbell too – so I guess it is her lucky day too. IMG_4684 IMG_4679

Abi has been begging me for days to make cupcakes. This is what we did today:

She always asks to look at the photos when I am done taking them. She looked at this and said, “Whoa mom, you had better wash my face. And then, I am going to brush my’s teeth.” And she did.

our conversation

Abi and I are just chilling today… literally!

Anyhow, I just went to use the restroom and closed the door behind me. Praying that I would, for once, get to use the bathroom alone. This was the proceeding conversation:

Abi: MOOOOOOOOOM!

Me: What?

Abi: You using the bathroom?

Me: Yes

Abi: You want privacy?

Me: Yes, I want privacy

Abi: That’s why you closed the door?

Me: Yes

Abi: Oh man!

She is such a hoot!

isn’t he handsome?

Yeah, I think my brother is too!!!

I got to watch him run a relay race for Cross country when I was in Colorado. I am amazed at how talented Erik is in running. Look at his stride… but not his face. He needs to work on that :)

His face looks much better here…

I love this photo of my mom. She looks so good – and a little like Martha Stewart. I know she’s laughing at that :) Love you mom!

back in Colorado

it has been so nice being with my family in Colorado. Abi and I drove down on Wednesday and we are staying for a week. Yesterday my dad took us up to Ralph Lauren’s ranch. It was so much fun! Ralph Lauren clothing is on my dream list of clothes that I would wear if I could. Just so classy! But so is my family- here are some photos from yesterday -

The trees were flaming yellow, orange and red. Then the mountains were snow capped! It was some of the most gorgeous nature I have ever seen. Abi was being a sweetheart and just being calm too, so it made things so nice and chill.

I love this photo of my dad and Abigail. I think it is because I know how much I love my dad and I just feel so blessed that Abi loves him as much as I do. I also love that my dad just melts over her.

My dad was making me laugh so hard… then my nose crinkles up. My mom says it’s cute, but sometimes I don’t think so. So I put it in here to gain more confidence about who I am.

I think this is the sweetest photo…

It was just beautiful up there.

our weekend

We went RV camping/hunting with Dan’s parents and brother. We had a nice time. It was SO gorgeous with all the aspen trees! What was so cool was that there wasn’t underbrush, but just soft grass so we could play all day in the trees.

The boys didn’t get an elk, but we just found out that on the way home, Lon (Dan’s father) stopped the motorhome to take a break and decided to go out and look around. While there in the parking lot, he got his elk… in the dark, all alone, with only Bev (Dan’s petite mom) to help him drag the elk (lots of pounds) back to the motor home. They didn’t have any cell service to get Dan’s brother with the pickup, so they had to shove the elk in the bottom of the motorhome :P yuck! I am SO glad I missed this adventure! But it does go to show that adventure is directly related to the Thomas name.

Well, you know what we will be serving in our menu for weeks and months to come! PLUS, we have the deer hunt in two more weeks. I don’t know if I can handle all this meat.

Abi did pretty well and even took naps (in random places). However, she serenaded everyone to sleep so loud that none of us could sleep! It was kind of a nightmare :)

I didn’t know it would be so cold, so I whipped up Abi a cute earband. She chose the colors.

The dirt roads we LINED with beer cans so we spent LOTS of time picking up cans along the side. It felt so good even though we didn’t get far because we kept running out of room in the bags.

Abi posed for these photos all by herself “by the tree” is what she said.IMG_4033 IMG_4034 IMG_4037 IMG_4038 IMG_4039 IMG_4042 IMG_4059 IMG_4067 IMG_4068 IMG_4071 IMG_4074

And then comes the watermelon adventure--- spitting seeds.
