Prom and Perotti Anniversary

Back in March we were swamped with business, which I was so grateful for. One weekend, I had three baby showers, two wedding showers, prom, and a 10 anniversary wedding party to do flowers for. Right in the middle of my ballroom showcase. Needless to say, it was a madhouse here. There were flowers everywhere and little sleep! It was a push but we got everything done and only had one sort of unsatisfied client (the bracelet was too big). Dan was a sport and learned a ton. I couldn’t have finished without him. Honestly, by my 12th hour I was fried, but he kept me going. We did flowers for over 28 hours in three days. I learned my capacity :)

The purple and red 10th anniversary party was awesome to do! It was for Dan’s sister and the colors were saturated and vibrant. Some of my favorite designs ever came out of that event. I hope to get some of the photographer’s photos because I didn’t get photos of everything we did. It was such a wonderful night too. Jocie and Josh seemed so happy and it was like a whole wedding do-over. Good feelings all around.

Final Ballroom Preparations for our Showcase

March got really busy for me as my ballroom teams and I got ready for showcase. One day I had some students over and we did hair, makeup, and costuming. I did tutorials for our blog and then took photos so my backstage moms knew how to put together the costumes during showcase. It was a lot of fun having my students over.

We also had team photos one practice – I had a team picture printed to give to each student at the end of showcase.

Watching my students perform at the assembly and the showcase was truly rewarding. Just to be able to use what I studied for so long help young students was truly incredible. Since this year was a trial run, I hope that next year will go a bit smoother.
