Summer heat and Travel

Little did we realize just how much stuff we would do after the last post! I can't possibly explain in detail what a great two weeks we have had! For the sad part of it all, Dan's Grandpa passed away on June 6th. This caused Dan and I to fly out to Utah a week earlier... so for the adventures from the 6th to now...

• Dan and I enjoyed a great camping trip at the Oquaga State Park in NY. Dan came home from work and changed to go home teaching. By the time he got home, I had packed and prepared everything to go camping. He was so excited! We were able to use all the camping gear we have received from the past two years for the first time! Sad! The park was only 20 minutes away and was so much fun. We had tinfoil dinners and s'mores on the fire and then slept in our awesome new tent. Then in the morning we had dutch oven breakfast! Oh it was so wonderful (except for the sleep on my end!). We were so tired after breakfast that we both went back to bed for an hour. Then Dan went swimming in the reservoir.
  
• We got home and decided to move our food storage into the basement to keep it cool. It was getting too hot and too humid in the room we were keeping our stuff in. This leads to the syndrome, "If you give a mouse a cookie." What this means is that one thing will lead to the next project which leads to the next and so on and so forth! We worked so hard cleaning and dejunking our house! It was so nice to make great progress and get rid of the other creatures we found. Yep Bats... in the extra blender none the less. Dan was so nice to me to get rid of them.
  
• The weather in New York got humid and hot in one day! We went from 60* to 95* in just one day. Because of the pregnancy, my feet and legs puffed up like fluffy puff marshmallows. it was terrible and they didn't swell down until we had been in Utah for a couple of days. We were thankful to leave that muggy feel.
  
• While we were cleaning we got a call from Dan's mom asking if we would like to fly out a week early... it was a hard decision to make! Leaving a week early for us was a crazy idea with so much to do about changing church and work stuff. We were grateful that we took our Real Estate tests early. That would have caused us to not be able to leave.
  
• We flew out of Albany Monday morning with some adventure of flights being canceled and then just late and more canceling. To the answer of our prayers, we were actually able to make it to Utah just in time to change at the airport and go straight to the funeral. It was a wonderful service and we enjoyed being with Dan's family. I held out okay, but came away with bad allergies, sunburns, swollen feet, and tired eyes. It was a wonderful day, but as you can tell by the photos... it was tiring!
• Bev threw me a baby shower and it was so much fun! We had great food and fun games. The diaper game was such a hit...
  
• We spent the week working and getting my class done at BYU! I took two tests and they were tough! I am so grateful to be done with that class. On to the next!!!
• On Saturday, we took the motor home down to Fruita, Colorado for Dan's Sisters baby. There were 11 of us, packed in the motor home. Surprisingly, we all got a long well and had a nice trip down for the baby blessing.
  
• Rome Joshua Perotti was blessed on Sunday. It was so much fun to be with Dan's family and to support Jocie and Josh.
  
• We celebrated Dan's first Father's Day with a great early gift. (I didn't want to take it with us to Utah). Dan got a gift certificate to take a SCUBA class and become certified! He starts class on July 13th and he is so excited! (If you can't tell from his face in the photo). I think that I really surprised him.
  
• My mom picked me up on Sunday and I have been with my family here in Colorado while Dan went back to Utah. We have done so much, but it would just take TOO long to type it all!
• Just an update for the baby lovers... 9 weeks to GO!!! AHHHH!!!
  
  
  

Prayers for Granda Johnson

Just another thought for the moment. Dan's Grandpa Johnson got pneumonia last week and was admitted to the hospital. Richard's has been a downhill slope since before Dan and I were married. A family decision was made to not support Richard's body by equipment. So as the week passes on, so does Grandpa Johnson. We love him dearly and are aware that he has lived a full and wonderful life. I have loved getting to know him and share my love with him. I have great memories of lunch breaks with him and Gloria (his wife).
Please keep the Johnson family in your prayers as this is a tough time of emotional conflict within family members. Thanks-

News

It seems like only yesterday that I posted last; however, time has slipped right away. With good excuse though! Dan and I have been in Real Estate School. We have finally finished and are just waiting for our test scores. We have passed one of the two tests! YEAH! It has been SO much work for us. We live an hour away from the school so we would drive every night for two and a half weeks to Binghamton for class. Not only that but Dan and I would have to drive separately... talk about expensive gas sucking! Class has been such a fulfilling thing though. We are excited to use our licensing to help others and to help ourselves in our investments.

On the crazy side of things... Dan and I have continuously found humor in my empty mindedness. Yesterday I went shopping ALL day and finally when I went to RE class, the ladies behind me tell me that my top is on inside out... ALL DAY! I went ALL day and not one person told me! Horrible. Our little one keeps getting bigger. I feel like I am going to rip open and don't understand how much bigger I am going to get! 11 weeks left though... yikes! She moves constantly and is so much fun to poke and watch her poke back. Dan thinks it is great when he pokes her and she kicks me. Honestly...

Work has been going so much better for Dan at the quarry. We have a great crew and produce so much stone, we can barely keep up in sales. our prayers for success are being granted and it is a wonderful blessing.
