kitchen sink

Abi was so messy after dinner one night so we stuck her in the sink while I did the dishes in the other sink... needless to say, Abi loved it and my back loved no having to bend over the tub.

Then Dan did her hair... little monster!

Outta this world!

Abi and I went with our friends to the Clark Planetarium last Saturday for an afternoon excursion to the moon!
The kids had so much fun playing while Mary Ann and I sat on the floor and talked... in the middle of the exibits! It was too much fun!

kitchen aid

I have my own kitchen aid... she mixes and messes things up pretty well :)

Tonight I let Abi unload the dishwasher... or she let herself. I helped her by taking out the utensil container and putting it on the floor away from my traffic pattern and she readily helped me unload. Although they ended up all over the floor, she was still a wonderful help. My favorite part of her helping me tonight is that she washed each utensil so carefully for a second time... aka, tasting each one as she pulled them out. :) I just smiled later, picked them up with a quick rinse underneath the faucet and placed them in the drawer.

Maybe you don't want to come over now huh? :)

Some of Abi's new developments:
- unloading the kitchen drawers and then climbing them one by one like stairs
- signing: all done, water, hot, food, more, ball, bird, water, sleep, dad (so cute) and our newest one last night... thank you. I think we are on a roll with signing, but that still hasn't stopped the tantrums
- abi also got a new carseat today... big girl!
- this past week abi has started to fold her arms when we say prayers now. It has been fun praying with her and amen is so cute too. Today she really put me in my place when I looked over while sitting down for lunch and her arms were already folded. Smartie!!!
- Abi LUVS dogs... about as much as birds, duckies, and Libby
- Abi loves to bounce on the bed. She goes nuts!
- the only times she sits still is when she is reading books (good sign to me... that she likes books at least)
- while about my daily tasks I tend to sing or hum songs and I noticed lately that Abi will start humming and singing along with me. that makes me feel SO good!
- When ever she hears sounds outside from people she signs Dad thinking that he is coming home (she also says "Dada" in relation to him)
- Abi knows who Jesus is. She loves looking at his picture and points to him when I ask her where he is.
- abi feels that she has to take anything out of her mouth (once I feed her) and make sure that it is okay to eat... then she usually puts is right back in. But this development also has allowed for food to end up all over from head to toes... luckily she likes baths on one side of the sink while I do dishes in the other (photos to come soon!)
- Abi also knows how to call Dan on my phone. She unlocks it, speed dials his number, and holds the phone up to her ear. I have others on my speed dial, but she just wants to talk to Dan.
- And last for tonight... Abi LOVES to share. She tends to share her binky with me the most and food comes in a close second. But I am so grateful that she knows how to be thoughtful to others. She also shares her binky with her new fav toy... her baby doll.

Abi has sure shown me what it means to be like a child... she keeps me young!

Birthday Celebrations~

My Brother's family was in Colorado for a week and we drove down to see them at my parent's place. It will probably be our only time to see them this year.
During our couple days stay, the boys went fishing/camping and the girls did... of course... girl things! We shopped and made jewelery and watched chick flicks.
We were lucky because it just happened to be close to Liberty's Birthday. So we celebrated!

One of her presents from us was this cake that I enjoyed making (and eating)... so did everyone else.

I am just in LUV with her! Her 1st birthday came SO SO SO fast!

We also gave her a tutu and Abi has a matching one. They were such cute creatures crawling around. They got a long so well and we enjoyed just lounging around watching them play.

I am amazed at how much our family has grown in the past 4 years. It is so exciting!

Summer Project!

I accomplished my second sewing project... it made for some late late nights, but I am so satisfied with the final result~ and I even had enough for a dress for Abi. Too much fun!

Dan even wore a yellow tie to church...

I was grateful for the woman in the fabric store who reminded me that if you want to sew you have to be willing to unpick! It helped me have more patience as I unpicked multiple times on these dresses...

the fourth

We went to our best friends the Merrills for our celebration! It was such a wonderful time. We sat on the roof (in the background) and had a perfect view of Stadium of Fire. The Merrills live across the street from the Stadium.

We were able to relax, eat a lot, enjoy friends and create memories. Thanks Merrills!
