We ran away to St. George for a weekend to be with my parents who were so kind to invite us on their vacation.
We were especially thrilled that Dan was able to come. He didn't think he could initially.
It was so nice not to have any sort of plans. We were seriously on vacation AND I felt like I got one too. Sometimes when too much is planned on a vacay, I don't feel like I get a break like everyone else does too.
A couple of my Aunts were also at the condo and they included the big girls in the crafting.

It was St. Patrick's Day and the condo served up some awesome (read... terrible) green snow cones.
This was right after Abi had a dance with a tree (the tree wasn't kind) and was taking it easy... she had a good wound from it.

My grandparents are snowbirds and live in St. George in the winters. It was so much fun spending time with them.
One morning the boys rode their bikes up Snow Canyon and my mom and I with the girls stayed at the sand dunes. It was my favorite part of the trip. I just let the girls do whatever they wanted and didn't even try to keep them clean...
The sun was warm, the sand was cold and there was the softest cool breeze... the most pleasant morning.

We visited my grandparent's home -
Grandma taught Abi to play dominoes. Grandma is seriously good at games. You don't play Skipbo with her unless you want to loose...
Eliza took it upon herself to smack everyone with the balloon.
Before we left my grandma loaded us up on Chocolate. She LOVES chocolate (this is where I get my sweet tooth). So we always know where to get some. It is a tender thing. My girls know her as the "Grandma that loves chocolate" and even Dan asked for some.
On our way out of town we stopped by my Grandparents' to say goodbye and Dan just ended up in a pie eating contest
As one lady in the group put it - "Welcome to the last supper"

On the way home we stopped at Cove Fort. It was SO much fun learning about our Mormon Heritage and what life was like not too long ago. Such a wonderful couple hours spent.
Our favorite part of the tour was the salt lick. In our family, Brookie douses EVERYTHING with salt. From apples to bread to salting Ranch Dressing... salt belongs on everything. So this was fun for her to try...
Another great part was playing the courtyard games.

We finished this on the way home. Overall, it was a good read. But mainly a great trip.
