I can tell when abi didn’t tell the truth because she puts her hands over her eyes like I can’t see her
I can tell when Dan is teasing because he gets a twinkle in his eyes, but rarely do others discern his kidding
I know that you are all needing to see our slow progress. Things have slowed down so much lately. We just have tons, and I mean TONZ (with a Z) of those small projects. Hopefully someday I will be able to post about all the little things we are doing. But for now, photos will suffice-

this is the shower door that I frosted this week. I just wanted something a bit geometric in there… fits with the overall plan of the bathroom – *sigh* someday.
dan’s office – as you can tell, we still have lots of doors to put on and still all the hardware on them to spray paint. Then there is dan’s project – solar panels. It will eventually be enough to power his computer for the day :)

this is the room that we got carpet in yesterday! That means that we are all done with our main living spaces! It has been overwhelming, but we accomplished it. Getting this room done pretty much doubled our living/play space. We have already enjoyed it so much! Except for that light and fan – it is way outdated! But it used to be in my master bedroom and we flipped them just so I could sleep a bit better.
this stone floor is what we worked on two weeks ago. It was a huge project, but I am so in love with it.I would so rather do tile work than stone work… stone is a lot more time consuming and rough on your hands. However, I love the look of natural stone so much more than a stiff tile.
this is the basement- our next undertaking for the month of February. It is the play room, craft/guest room and guest bathroom. Plus our storage room.
I kind of feel it necessary to apologize that these photos don’t show a pristine, picture-perfect home. But if I waited for that day, it would be years from now. There will always be piles of toys, books, to do’s, and I just can’t keep that under wraps right now. We have so much left to do but have to live in the space at the same time. Plus, I have two kids and a husband! So I send my condolences if it offended you or if you think less of me… but I am realistic. You should have seen it when I had 22 loads of laundry to do (three days straight of loads)… now that was messy.
abigail had her first visit to the dentist this past week. she did amazing for her first time. these are some photos that I snapped with my phone so forgive the quality.
check out the face that she is giving! she was so concerned about the water and suction tools.
she came away with great, healthy teeth, floss, a cinderella toothbrush, bubble gum toothpaste, and jewelry from the treasure box.
she is so taken by this whole experience that she threw a fit tonight claiming that all her teeth would fall out if she didn’t do her whole teeth routine (brush and floss) tonight. *sigh* that won’t stick for longer than a week I am sure.
well brookie is just growing up so fast right before my eyes. how I love this girl! she is cutting a tooth right now, her first one and I am so excited to see that little white bump pop out of her gums from that clear line forming. I will be sad to see her toothless grin go, but I just know I will fall more in love with her as she gets teeth.
sacondly, I have never seen a girl blow so many raspberries before! That is how she talks, gets upset, gets your attention, and protests at you. sadly, it is too cute. I love how she furrows her brow to do them.
finally, she will be crawling any day. we have the hands and knees down, the rocking down, and the moving backwards down. We are working on the forwards now. She has done so many faceplants I feel sorry for her.
on a side note and for journaling purposes… brookie, you hurled four times today in tjMaxx. I am grateful that your blanket was in a bowl shape to keep it from exiting your carseat. we bathed you in the sink there and wore a onesie and blanket that was from a box of dirty laundry in the back of my car*
*the box of dirty laundry – we haven’t had a washer and dryer for four weeks. we have been working on the floor in that area of the house. it was a long job, but we are finally done. THANKFULLY, I had started laundry today so we could actually wash Brookie’s carseat. Two weeks ago, I went over to a neighbor’s home to do two loads of laundry and only got one load done. I left the other load in the car because I thought I would have to go back later to get it done. Thankfully I did that because we had to pull not only this outfit out of the box, but another one last week.

Abi learned about her body in her first day of sunbeams. *sob* she is getting so big!
this was her hair yesterday. she wanted a ponytail like me. Gah! She is so adorable too. It made her look so old.
