The girls and I snuck out this week on a fun adventure. We went to Gardner’s Village. I remember going here with my mom and baby brother (at the time). It has changed a bit, but the feel is still the same.
We had purchased Abi a pass to the petting zoo! Oh it was so worth it too.
Abi first took time with the bunnies.
After B’s finger got nibbled on, she was done with the animals up close.
Abi then took on the chickens. She was so tender with them. One even decided to go to sleep in her arms.
She found out this one laid blue eggs and thought that was way awesome!
Then we took on the goats and sheep. This goat couldn’t stop eating the stroller. Needless to say, we are missing some tags on the back now :)
Then for the alpacas who were sly but very gentle. This is where Abi got to ride one. She was hesitant, but took it on like a champ… and that fueled the fire for later you’ll see.
This little one Bailey was my favorite. She was SO soft and way curious.
Then we met the twin brother calves. The one with the bell was named Sir Loin. Great!
Then we hit the geese and turkeys
Then something happened that I thought wouldn’t. Last year Abi would have NOTHING to do with the pony rides. This year… she OWNED the pony ride… even though it was mini horses.
Remember when I talked about fueling the fire? Well, here is the result of it. Abi went Mutton Busting? Yeah, she SO did! Without hesitation. She was just laughing up a storm and did it twice! This was our last event in the petting zoo and she was on cloud nine!!! She was so proud of herself and I was so proud of her too.
Then to the hat shop we went-
Our last stop was the candy shop -
A Dum Dum for B-
A unicorn horn for Abi-
And some raspberry and root beer float fudge squares for me-
What a wonderful afternoon full of memories and dirty hair because it was so darn windy.
