Last night I threw myself a birthday party. We invited a lot of our friends over and in the process made some new friends too! I spent all day cleaning the house and preparing food. I also receive a call from a good looking gentleman who asked me to make a birthday cake for his wife. I was SO impressed with my work of art (in the photos), I am pretty sure she was happy too :) We partied with about 14 of us, and only 6 chairs... oh the joys of being young and poor! Once we finished Dan packed his suitcase and I cleaned up the house. Then we finished a movie we watched and talked for a long time. By this time, it was almost time to get up!

At 5 am this morning (not the greatest birthday present) I took Dan to the Salt Lake airport where he would take off for three weeks to NY. His dad is also going with him. his dad is running the Boston Marathon on Monday and then they will drive to NY and work where we lived. I already miss Dan so much. I am amazed at what a strength he has become in my life. I rely on him for so much and I am already realizing with a grateful heart all he does for Abi and me. 21 more days to go...
So I am on about 2 hours of sleep... 7am-9am. I am tired, but of course Abi didn't want to sleep all day! We took the morning easy since the Salt Lake marathon was going on and we are in the middle of the loop and really didn't have a way out. Then this afternoon, Abi and I went and partied! We went to the South Town Expo Center for a women's convention. There were hundreds of booths on jewelry, clothing, health, makeup, shoes and handbags! It was a mad house too! Strollers everywhere! We whopped for two hours and had a great time! I pampered myself to a necklace and earring set, a card game that I am just DYING to play!!!

Oh AND glitter toes!!! Check out the photo of those! It was such a crazy and fun experience. Abi was really overstimulated, so I spent a lot of time pulling her in and out of her stroller. When she was in my arms she was fine emotionally, but wanted to touch everything... and when she was in her stroller (if it wasn't moving) she was a wreck. Luckily, I didn't feel too out of place since 4,000 other mothers were doing the same thing! I also was in awe at all the pregnant women! Definitely not upstate NY!
Abi and I also dressed up and got our photos taken in a photobooth! It was so much fun. I will post those photos once I get them digital. What a great memory for me... I can't wait to make some like that when she is older and can remember. My mom and I did that once in California. I am sure the people outside the booth were wondering what was going on inside! I think that is one of my best memories with my mom. I cherish it deeply.
I am so grateful for all my friends and family who have wished me a happy birthday! Like Cam said today, the weather was the best present for me! It was beautiful and really reflects how I feel about my day. I love you all... take care of my Dan if you see him the next little while.
PS- I would love to make anyone a cake if they need one!
