December Overload

Our December was a memorable one - one where I was sick for three out of the four weekends! From head colds to strep throat, it was a long month on that end. Thankfully, we didn't have too many plans that we had to cancel.

Mornings around here have been so beautiful throughout the past months. I am so grateful that I get to see them as Abi goes off to school. That is about the only benefit of the winter months for me.

I was doing some flowers one afternoon and smelled the rose. Eliza stopped pilfering through the trash (what we allow to get work done) and smelled the rose in a way a lizard would.

Eliza LOVES to roll in blankets. She just cracks us up when she does this - Abi calls it "Pig in a blanket." She will put her blanket on her head and walk around. Surprisingly she hasn't ran into too many things, but we've had some good laughs from her.

Do you like my hat? It even serves beverages.

Piggies for this princess-

Breakfast with Kit.

What I do to make it through church is all about creativity. I can usually get 3 minutes of break when I pull out a mini chair.

Making lasagna and my zucchini was amazing!!!

My new computer came in the mail and guess who was first to touch it? Oh she thought she was hot stuff.

Watching the Christmas Devotional with our kids. Can't say we got anything out of it.

This is how we do Christmas time around here!

Another gorgeous sunrise!!!

While doing some Christmas prepping, I introduced Brookie to White Christmas. It was such a wonderful experience. She was glued.

A painting I did for my girlfriend for Christmas.

We had such a wonderful night at the Draper temple on the 10th. Dan's grandpa was sealed to his parents and 4 deceased brothers. It was a pretty neat experience.
On the drive I started feeling a tickle in the back of my throat and 3 hours later I could barely drive home. The whole time I told Dan that I had never had a desire to lay on the temple floor but I could hardly sit in a chair. Thank you strep throat... it came on super fast.

I was so jealous of  how she could look so cute running around like this.

Brookie's design - I love the water caught in the bud.

Nativities from Mima!!!

This sight made my heart sing. So thankful I have such a great family - especially hubby.

Sick

This marked the first time Abi quoted me. Where did she pick it up, I'll never know, but welcome to the rest of my life -

Sick.

Abi had her Sing-In for school. Her grade was amazing! You can tell how right on they were in choreography and it was so much fun to watch.

Ward Christmas party on the Polar Express... you can tell what Eliza thought - this is just one of those photos we will laugh at someday and I think every family has at least one.

Love notes in the best places. I love pulling in my garage to this.

This is what I do with Kneader's french toast too-

Inroducing -  Luchadora Eliza Mae!!!

Besides being sick, my December was full of prep for our Work party. I spent every free hour I had getting it ready. The gifts turned out great.

New Hair

December started out with me getting my "hair did."
My stylist who I have used for 7 years just had twins so she has stopped doing hair for a while - that meant I had to find someone new. Thank heavens for Instagram giving me a way to keep in touch with other ladies who do hair and see their work!
Dan was out of town so I had my mother-in-law watch the girls and that was awesome because I didn't get home until 1:30 am! I sat in the chair for 6 hours! My stylist worked the whole time but I have hoards of hair and the process just takes forever.
Overall, I am tickled by the result. The color is gorgeous and I felt so renewed! I still have a lot of hair that is shorter from the breakage that occurred from being prego, but I am getting there. I can actually wear my hair straight now but still have to pull it back on my part side. I think by the end of the summer someone won't be able to tell what happened. That point will make about 26 months of regrowth from when it started breaking. The Lord must have needed me to learn something---

This was taken at the salon - I love these photos. I haven't had a good photo of me taken in a while. However, I have bloodshot eyes due to the time in of night it was taken - maybe some Photoshop if I ever need a head shot :)
